The purpose of this study is to investigate and compare the effects of TRX
suspension exercises on balance and physical performance in healthy individuals.
The study started with two groups; the study group and the control group with 42
individuals for each, whose ages were between 20 – 45. In the study period, 1
individual from the control group was excluded because of orthopedic problem, 1
individual did not attend in the final evaluation; and 2 individuals from the exercise
group were excluded from the study due to their inability to continue the exercise
program. The research was completed with 40 individuals (20 women, 20 men) of
the control group and 40 individuals (21 women, 19 men) of the study group. At the
beginning of the study, participants were given preliminary evaluations of static and
dynamic balance, explosive strength, flexibility, strength and endurance. In the
assessments of these, respectively; single leg stance test, Y-balance test, standing
long jump test and single leg (left and right) long jump tests, sit and reach test, sit up
and back extension tests were used. After 8 weeks without exercise for the control
group and 2 sessions of TRX exercises per week for 8 weeks, the same evaluations
were repeated for all parameters According to the results of the study, the difference
between the preliminary and final evaluations of any parameter in the control group
was found to be statistically insignificant; a statistically significant difference was
found between pre- and post-tests in all evaluations, including static and dynamic
balance, explosive strength, flexibility, core strength and endurance of the group
performing TRX exercises. In the study group these values were higher than the
control groups’ values. In our study, it was concluded that TRX suspension exercises
were very effective in improving static and dynamic balance, explosive strength and
flexibility in healthy individuals, as well as increasing muscle strength and endurance in the core region.

ÖZ:
Bu çalışmanın amacı, TRX süspansiyon egzersizlerinin sağlıklı bireylerdeki denge ve fiziksel performans üzerine etkilerinin araştırılması ve karşılaştırılmasıdır. Araştırmaya, çalışma grubu ve kontrol grubu olmak üzere her bir grup için 42 bireyden oluşan, 20 – 45 yaş aralığında iki grup ile başlandı. Çalışma sürecinde, kontrol grubundan 1 birey ortopedik rahatsızlığı nedeniyle, 1 birey son değerlendirmeye katılmaması nedeniyle; çalışma grubundan ise 2 birey egzersiz programına devamsızlıkları nedeniyle çalışma dışı bırakıldı. Kontrol grubunda 40 birey (20 kadın, 20 erkek) ve çalışma grubunda 40 birey (21 kadın, 19 erkek) ile araştırma tamamlandı. Araştırmanın başında, katılımcıların statik ve dinamik denge, patlayıcı kuvvet, esneklik, kuvvet ve enduranslarının değerlendirmesinde sırası ile; tek ayak üzerinde durma testi, Y-Denge testi, durarak uzun atlama ve tek ayak (sağ ve sol) uzun atlama testleri, otur uzan testi, mekik ve sırt ekstansiyon testleri kullanıldı. Kontrol grubu için 8 haftalık ara dönem (egzersiz yapılmayan) ve çalışma grubu için 8 hafta boyunca haftada 2 seans TRX egzersizleri uygulamasının ardından; tüm parametreler için aynı değerlendirmeler tekrarlandı. Çalışmanın sonuçlarına göre, kontrol grubunda herhangi bir parametrenin ön ve son değerlendirmeleri arasındaki fark istatistiksel olarak anlamsız bulunurken; TRX egzersizleri yapan grubun statik ve dinamik denge, patlayıcı kuvvet, esneklik, core kuvveti ve enduransı olmak üzere tüm değerlendirmelerde ön ve son testler arasında istatistiksel olarak anlamlı fark saptandı. Son değerlendirmelerde, dinamik denge, patlayıcı kuvvet, esneklik, kuvvet ve endurans istatistiksel olarak anlamlı fark gösterdi. Bu değerler çalışma grubunda, kontrol grubuna kıyasla daha yüksek bulundu. Çalışmamızda, TRX süspansiyon egzersizlerinin, sağlıklı bireylerde statik
ve dinamik dengeyi, patlayıcı kuvveti ve esnekliği geliştirmesinin yanı sıra, core bölgesi kas kuvveti ve enduransının artırılmasında da çok etkili olduğu sonucuna varıldı.
