Okul öncesi dönemde sosyal ilişkilerinin artmasıyla birlikte çocuklar akran
ilişkilerinde ve çevresindeki diğer kişilerle etkileşim kurarken güçlüklerle
karşılaşırlar ve bazı baş etme stratejileri deneyerek sosyal problem çözme
becerilerini geliştirirler. Anne babalarının farklı baş etme yollarını model alan
çocuğun kendi yaşamındaki sosyal problemlerle baş etme sürecinde yetkinleşmesi
büyük önem taşır. Problemlerini etkili bir şekilde çözebilen çocuklar; akademik
yaşantılarında başarılı olma ve çevreleriyle yakın ilişkiler kurabilmeyi daha iyi
başarabildiklerinden mutlu bireyler olarak yetişeceklerdir. Okul öncesi dönemi
kapsayan yaşlar davranışların şekillenmesi açısından önemlidir. Çocuklarda
prososyal davranışların gelişmesi için ortam hazırlamak ve desteklemekle birlikte
toplumda empati kurabilen, sosyal problem çözme becerisi gelişmiş bireyler yetişir.
Bu bağlamda erken yaşlarda prososyal davranışların desteklenmesi ileriki yaşlarda
davranış biçimlerinin zeminini oluşturması açısından çok önemlidir.
Çocukların sağlıklı büyüme ve gelişmesi açısından son derece önemli bir işlevi
olan sosyal problem çözme becerisinin hangi değişkenlerle ilişkili olduğunun
belirlenmesi bu çalışmanın temel amacını oluşturmaktadır. Ayrıca çocukların ilk
temel alışkanlıklarını edindikleri aile ortamında anne-babaların çocuk yetiştirme
tutumlarını da problem çözme becerisinin kazanılmasında önemli etkileri olabileceği
düşünülmektedir. Bu nedenle çalışmanın bir diğer amacı da, anne-baba tutumlarının,
çocukların sosyal problem çözme becerileriyle olan ilişkisini incelemektir.
Araştırma ilişkisel tarama modeli kullanılarak yapılmış nicel bir çalışmadır.
Çalışma grubu; 2015-2016 eğitim-öğretim yılında KKTC Girne İlçesi’ndeki 52
devlet anasınıfına devam edem 46 5 yaş, 54 6 yaş toplam 100 5-6 yaş grubu çocuğu
ve aileleridir. Kişisel Bilgi Formu ve Ebeveyn Tutum Ölçeği (ETÖ) okullar
aracılığıyla ailelere gönderilmiş ve çalışmaya katılmayı kabul ederek ilgili formları
doldurup gönderen ailelerin çocuklarına Wally Sosyal Problem Çözme Ölçeği
araştırmacı tarafından okullarda uygulanmıştır. Toplam olarak okullarda ailelere
gönderilmek üzere 600 form dağıtılmış ve geri dönen 100 ebeveynin çocukları ile
çalışmaya devam edilmiştir. Ailelerden geri dönen 100 Kişisel Bilgi Formunu 75
anne (%75) ve 25 baba (%25) yanıtlamıştır.
Araştırmanın bulgularına göre, çocukların sosyal problem çözme
becerilerinin orta düzeyde olduğu sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Çocukların sosyal problem
çözme becerilerinin; cinsiyet, yaş, ebeveynin yaşı, anne-baba eğitim durumu, aylık
gelir, ailedeki çocuk sayısı, anne-babanın anlaşma düzeyi ve algıladıkları sosyal
destek açısından farklılaşmadığı görülmüştür. Ebeveyn tutumları
değerlendirildiğinde demokratik tutumun yaygın olduğu bunu koruyucu tutumun
izlediği, otoriter ve izin verici tutumun daha düşük düzeyde görüldüğü sonucuna
ulaşılmıştır. Okul öncesi eğitimde olan 5-6 yaş çocuklarının sosyal problem çözme
beceri düzeyleri ile ebeveynlerin çocuk yetiştirme tutumlarının ilişkisine
bakıldığında ise sonuç istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bulunmamıştır.

As a socio-cultural entity, people are trying to adapt to the environment
from birth with the increase in social relations in the pre-school period, children face
difficulties in interacting with peers and other people around them, and they develop
social problem solving skills by trying out some coping strategies.
It is of utmost importance that the child modeling the different ways of
coping with the parents is competent in the process of coping with the social
problems in his/her life. Children who can solve their problems effectively; will grow
up as happy individuals because they will be able to succeed in their academic life
and achieve better relations with their environment. During pre-school years, which
has a large effect on shaping of behaviors, social problem-solving ability to prepare
and support the development of prosocial behaviors in children is of great
importance in terms of development of empathic adults in society.
The main purpose of this study is to determine variables related with social
problem solving skills in children, which has a very important function for healthy
growth and development of children. It is also thought that parenting attitudes of
parents in the family environment where children get their first basic habits can also
have important effects on the problem solving skills. For this reason, another aim is
to examine the relationship between parental attitudes and the ability of children to
solve social problems.
The research was conducted using quantitative research methodology and
relational survey method. The sample of the study consists of 46, 5 years old and 54
6 years old totally 100 children, who are studying in 52 state classrooms in Girne
District of TRNC during 2015-2016 academic year and their families. The Personal
Information Form and the Parent Attitude Scale (ETÖ) were sent to families through
schools and the Wally Social Problem Solving Scale was administered by the
researcher to the children of the families who filled in and submitted the forms by
agreeing to participate in the study. In total, 600 forms were distributed to families in
schools, and 100 parents returned to work with their children. 75 mothers (%75) and
25 fathers (%25) from 100 parents filled out the personal information form.
According to the findings of the research, it is concluded that children are in the
middle level of solving the social problem. The social problem solving scores of
children didn’t differentiate according to; gender, age, age of the parent, parent
education level, monthly income, children in the family, parents agreement about
child rearing and perceived social support. When the data on the attitudes of parents
were analyzed, it was seen that the majority of the families showed a democratic
attitute towards their children and custodion rearing followed it; authoritative and
permissive child rearing were seen of a lower level. The results were not statistically
significant when the social problem solving skill levels of 5-6 year old children
attending preschool education were compared with the parenting attitudes of parents.
