Okul Öncesi Öğretmenlerinin Benlik Saygıları ve İş Doyumu Arasındaki İlişkinin İncelenmesi

Abstract

ÖZ: Okul öncesi öğretmenleri 0-6 yaş aralığındaki çocukların eğitiminden sorumludur. Bu bağlamda okul öncesi öğretmenlerinin kendi iş doyumları ve mesleki benlik saygıları çocukları etkileyebilmektedir. Bu çalışmada, okul öncesi öğretmenlerinin mesleki benlik saygıları ile iş doyumu düzeylerinin bazı değişkenler açısından farklılaşıp farklılaşmadığı incelenmiştir. Bu araştırmanın amacı 2017-2018 eğitim öğretim yılında okul öncesi eğitim kurumlarında görev yapan okul öncesi öğretmenlerinin mesleki benlik saygıları ile iş doyumlarının farklı değişkenlerle ilişkisinin ve bu iki değişken arasındaki ilişkinin incelenmesidir. Araştırma evrenini 2017-2018 Eğitim Öğretim yılında Kuzey Kıbrıs Türk Cumhuriyeti’nde okul öncesi öğretmeni olarak görev yapmakta olan 297 okul öncesi öğretmeni oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmanın sonuçlarına göre okul öncesi öğretmenlerinin mesleki benlik saygısı düzeyinin yaş ve kıdem değişkenlerine göre farklılaştığı tespit edilmiş, ancak cinsiyet ve eğitim düzeyi değişkenlerinin benlik saygısı açısından farklılığa yol açmadığı saptanmıştır. Okul öncesi öğretmenlerinin iş doyum düzeylerinde yaş ve kıdem değişkenleri açısından anlamlı bir farklılık tespit edilmiş, ancak cinsiyet, eğitim düzeyi değişkenleri ile iş doyumu düzeyleri açısından anlamlı bir fark saptanmamıştır. Bu çalışmadan elde edilen sonuçlara göre, okul öncesi öğretmenlerinin mesleki benlik saygınlığı ve iş doyumu düzeyleri arasında pozitif yönde orta düzeyde anlamlı bir ilişki tespit edilmiştir. Pre-school teachers are responsible for the education of children between the age of 0-6. In this context, it is inevitable that pre-school teachers own job satisfaction and professional self-esteem that affect children. In this study, it has been examined whether professional self-esteem job satisfaction levels of pre-school teachers differ in terms of some variables. The aim of this study is to investigate the relationship between professional self-esteem and job satisfaction of pre-school teachers working in 2017-2018 preschool institutions during 2017-2018 academic year, in terms of different variables. The research population consists of 297 pre-school teachers in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. According to the results of the research it was found that there was a significant difference between pre-school teachers’ self-esteem level with age and seniority variables, but no significant relationship was found between gender and educational level variables. Significant difference was found between the job satisfaction levels of the pre-school teachers depending to the age and seniority variables. But no significant difference was found between gender, education level job and satisfaction levels. According to the results obtained from this study, the relationship between the pre-school teachers’ self-esteem and job satisfaction levels was examined and a positive and moderate significant relationship was found between the job satisfaction levels and profossional self-esteem of the participants.
