In these days, creating a brand and its perception in the fashion industry is a
challenging and competitive process. Fashion brands have started to increase within
the development of the fashion industry. The increase in the demand for the fashion
industry has led fashion manufacturers to produce more. Brand management is critical
in the market conditions where the wants and needs of customers change very quickly.
Considering the literature, it can be said that the behavior of customers has a great
effect on the reasons of brand preference. In this context, the concepts of brand creation
and its perception in the fashion sector are associated with consumers’ behaviors.
This thesis empirically examines how consumer behaviors are shaped based on the
reasons of choosing brand in the fashion context. 150 participants are conducted using
face to face and online methods in both Turkey and TRNC. One-way ANOVA and
independent t-test were used to analyze the data obtained from the questionnaires.
Empirical findings show that there is a direct relationship between the consumers'
wants and the brand's message to consumers based on the brand creation process
whereas consumer behavior has a direct impact on purchasing decisions. The results
also indicate that if the expectations of consumers and the promises made by the brand
as well as the level of consumer satisfaction is high, the brand can be successful.
ÖZ: Günümüzdeki rekabet koşullarında moda sektöründe marka oluşturmak ve marka algısı yaratmak oldukça zorlayıcı bir süreçtir. Moda sektörünün gelişimi ile moda markaları artmaya başlamıştır. Moda sektörüne olan talebin artması moda üreticilerini daha fazla üretim yapmaya itmiştir. Moda tüketicilerinin isteklerinin çok hızlı değiştiği piyasa koşullarında marka yönetimi kritik bir önem taşımaktadır. Literatüre bakıldığında moda tüketicilerinin davranışlarının marka tercih etme sebeplerine büyük bir etkisinin olduğu söylenebilir. Bu bağlamda tezde, moda sektöründe marka yaratma ve marka algısı yaratma kavramları tüketici davranışları ile ilişkilendirilmiştir. Bu tezde moda bağlamında markayı tercih etme sebepleri sırasında tüketici davranışlarının nasıl şekillendiği analiz edilmiş ve Türkiye ile Kuzey Kıbrıs Türk Cumhuriyeti’nde online ve yüz yüze anket yöntemi uygulanmıştır. Anket çalışmasının sonucunda 150 geçerli ankete ulaşılmıştır. Anketlerden elde edilen verilerin analizinde, tek yönlü ANOVA ve bağımsız t-testi kullanılmıştır. Marka oluşturma sürecinin tüketicilerin istekleri ile markanın tüketicilere vereceği mesaj ile doğrudan bir ilişki içinde olduğu, moda bağlamında tüketici davranışlarının satın alma kararlarına doğrudan etkisinin olduğu, tüketicilerin beklentileri ile markanın sunduğu vaatler bütünleşebiliyorsa ve gerçekleşen tüketici tatmin düzeyi yüksek ise markanın başarılı olabileceği sonucuna ulaşılmıştır.
