ÖZ:
Bu araştırmada, Kuzey Kıbrıs Türk Cumhuriyeti Millî Eğitim Bakanlığına
bağlı Lefkoşa bölgesinde bulunan Bülent Ecevit Anadolu Lisesi’nde (BEAL) görev
yapan öğretmenlerin toplumsal cinsiyet eşitliğine dair tutumlarının ve algılarının
belirlenmesi hedeflenmiştir. Ayrıca, amaç öğretmenlerin tutum ve algıları üzerinde
cinsiyet, yaş, eğitim durumu, medeni durum ve hizmet yılı gibi değişkenlerin etkisini
incelemek ve elde edilen sonuçlar doğrultusunda çözüm önerileri getirmektir.
Yapılan bu araştırma, nicel yönteme dayalı tarama modelinde gerçekleştirilmiştir.
Uygun örnekleme yöntemiyle araştırmanın çalışma grubunu BEAL’de görev yapan
öğretmenler oluşturmuştur. Araştırma verilerinin toplanması için Zeyneloğlu ve
Terzioğlu tarafından geliştirilen “Toplumsal Cinsiyet Tutum Rolleri Ölçeği” ve
bununla birlikte demografik bilgi formu kullanılmıştır. Ölçeğin uygulanması
konusunda Millî Eğitim Bakanlığından gerekli izinler alındıktan sonra Google form
aracılığı ile çevrimiçi hale getirilerek BEAL’de görev yapan bütün öğretmenlere
iletilmiştir.
Elde edilen verilerin analizinde frekans, yüzde, ortalama gibi betimsel
istatistikler ile t-testi ve ANOVA testleri kullanılmıştır. Yapılan analizlerde,
araştırmanın değişkenleri arasında anlamlı farklılığa neden olan temel değişkenlerin
cinsiyet, yaş ve hizmet yılı olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Bunlara ek olarak öğretmenlerin
eğitim durumu ve medeni durum değişkenlerinin cinsiyetçi tutum ve algılar üzerinde
anlamlı farklılıklar oluşturmadığı ortaya çıkartılmıştır. Cinsiyet bağımsız
değişkeninin “Genel cinsiyet rolü”, “Evlilikte Cinsiyet Rolü”, “Geleneksel Cinsiyet
Rolü” ve “Erkek Cinsiyet Rolü” alt boyutları üzerinde istatistiksel açıdan anlamlı
farklılık oluşturduğu, “Geleneksel Cinsiyet Rolü” ve “Erkek Cinsiyet Rolü” alt
boyutlarında yaş değişkeninin anlamlı bir farklılık oluşturduğu tespit edilmiştir.
Medeni durum ve eğitim durumu bağımsız değişkenlerinin, araştırmada incelenen alt
boyutlara istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bir farklılık oluşturmadığı tespit edilmiştir.
Araştırma sonuçları doğrultusunda, okullarda tüm paydaşlara toplumsal
cinsiyet eşitliğine yönelik bilgi ve farkındalık düzeylerini geliştirmek için bilinçli
şekilde hazırlanmış eğitim programlarının, seminerlerin hizmet içi kursların ve
toplumsal cinsiyet eşitliği projelerinin, hayatın tüm kesimlerine uygulandığı
etkinliklerin düzenlenmesi önerilmiştir.
This study aimed to determine the attitudes and perceptions of teachers
working at Bülent Ecevit Anatolian High School (BEAL) in Nicosia, affiliated with
the Ministry of National Education of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus,
towards gender equality. In addition, the aim is to examine the effect of variables
such as gender, age, educational status, marital status, and years of service on
teachers' attitudes and perceptions and to propose solutions in line with the results
obtained. This research was conducted in a survey model based on a quantitative
method. The study group of the research consisted of teachers working in BEAL
using a convenient sampling method. "Gender Attitude Roles Scale" developed by
Zeyneloğlu and Terzioğlu and demographic information form were used to collect
the data. After obtaining the necessary permissions from the Ministry of National
Education to implement the scale, it was made online via Google form and sent to all
teachers working in BEAL.
Descriptive statistics such as frequency, percentage, mean, t-test and ANOVA
tests were used to analyze the data. The analysis revealed that the main variables that
caused significant differences between the variables of the study were gender, age,
and years of service. In addition to these, it was revealed that the educational status
and marital status variables of the teachers did not create significant differences in
sexist attitudes and perceptions. It was determined that the independent variable of
gender created a statistically significant difference in the sub-dimensions of "General
gender role", "Gender role in marriage", "Traditional Gender Role" and "Male
Gender Role". In contrast, the independent variable of age created a significant
difference in the sub-dimensions of "Traditional Gender Role" and "Male Gender
Role." It was determined that the independent variables of marital status and
educational status did not create a statistically significant difference for the sub
dimensions examined in the study.
In line with the results of the research, it is recommended that training
programs, seminars, in-service courses, and activities where gender equality projects
are applied to all segments of life should be organized to improve the level of
knowledge and awareness of gender equality for all stakeholders in schools.
