| dc.description.abstract | A major change has recently been occurred in the use of the Internet technology and this rapid change resulted in emerging Web 2.0 technologies which refers to wikis, blogs, social networking, social bookmarking, instant messaging, Internet telephony, and audio/video conferencing. Many students started to use some aspects of Web 2.0 technologies in today's digital environment and they have gained competency in these areas whereas some are still having difficulties in even using the computer. In this changing world, it is a necessity to investigate their perceptions towards Web 2.0 technologies because it is believed that it affects the improvement of learning and interaction among learners and teachers (Hartshorne & Ajjan, 2009). As a result, this study intends to examine the perceptions of the teacher candidates in the Department of Educational Sciences at Eastern Mediterranean University.
