Kuzey Kıbrıs Türk Cumhuriyeti’nde Bulunan Okul Öncesi Öğretmenlerinin Epistemolojik İnançlarının İncelenmesi

Abstract

The purpose of the study is to investigate of epistemological beliefs of pre-school teachers working in Northern Cyprus according to age, gender, seniority, graduate school, institution of work and master's degree. In the 2017-2018 academic year, 210 pre-school teachers working in schools affiliated to the Ministry of National Education of TRNC participated in the study. 199 participants were female and 11 participants were male pre-school teachers. The research was quantitative.In this study, the « Epistemological Belief Scale » adapted to Turkish by Aypay (2011) was used and the « Demographic Information Form » prepared by the researcher was used to learn the demographic information of the teachers. T-test is used in the analysis of the data. According to the results of the research; in Northern Cyprus, the epistemological beliefs of pre-school teachers were significantly higher than the average of the scale. The teachers have a high level of epistemological beliefs about innate/fixed ability and a low level of beliefs about learning effort/process. In addition, it was found that the epistemological beliefs of pre-school teachers were affected by age, graduate school and the institution of work but they were not affected by gender, master‟s degree and seniority year. ÖZ: Bu araştırmada Kuzey Kıbrıs‟ta görev yapmakta olan okul öncesi öğretmenlerinin epistemolojik inançlarının yaş, cinsiyet, kıdem yılı, mezun olunan okul, çalışılan kurum ve yüksek lisans yapma değişkenlerine göre incelenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Araştırmaya 2017-2018 eğitim öğretim yılında KKTC‟de Milli Eğitim ve Kültür Bakanlığı‟na bağlı okullarda görev yapmakta olan 210 okul öncesi öğretmen katılmıştır. Katılımcıların 199‟u kadın ve 11 „i erkek okul öncesi öğretmenleridir. Araştırmada nicel verilere dayanarak ilişkisel tarama yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Araştırmada öğretmenlerin demografik bilgilerini öğrenme amacıyla araştırmacı tarafından hazırlanan „‟Demografik Bilgi Formu‟‟ ve Aypay (2011) tarafından Türkçe‟ye uyarlanan „‟Epistemolojik İnanç Ölçeği‟‟ kullanılmıştır. Elde edilen verilerin analizinde „‟Anova‟‟ ve „‟T-testi‟‟ kullanılmıştır. Araştırma sonucuna göre; Kuzey Kıbrıs‟ta okul öncesi öğretmenlerinin epistemolojik inançlarının ölçek ortalamasının üstünde yer alarak anlamlı olarak gelişmiş olduğu görülmüştür. En yüksek puan " doğuştan/sabit yetenek” en düşük puan ise „‟öğrenme çabası‟‟ inançlarında olmuştur. Buna ek olarak okul öncesi öğretmenlerinin epistemolojik inançlarında yaş, mezun olunan okul, çalışılan kurum değişkenine göre farklılaşırken cinsiyet, lisansüstü eğitim ve kıdem yılına göre farklılaşmadığı saptanmıştır.
