dc.description.abstracta new hybrid transform coding methodology for lossy image compression that integrates discrete wavelet transform, discrete cosine Transform and singular value decomposition methods is proposed. The proposed system has enhancements in both the compression ratio and the computational time. The results demonstrate the advantages of the proposed system in comparison to the previous discrete cosine transform and singular value decomposition systems, Improvements in both compression ratio and computational time have been reported.
