dc.description.abstractNew, simple and generalized PML formulations are presented for the truncation of the wave-equation Finite Difference Time Domain (WE-FDTD) computational grid. The formulations are based on the derivation of the wave equation in the PML region using the stretched coordinate PML approach. The method allows significant reductions in the computational time and the memory storage requirements as compared with the conventional PML formulations. Numerical tests are carried out in two dimensional domains to show the validity of the proposed formulations.
