Abstract

Unconditionally stable second-order split-step (SS) envelope perfectly matched layer (PML) formulations are presented for truncating finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) grids. The proposed method is based on the second-order SS-FDTD algorithm. Numerical examples carried out in two-dimensional domains are included to show the validity of the proposed formulations.
