Kent Ölçeğinde Barış Düzeni Kurabilme Pratiği: Mağusa Ekoşehir Projesi

Abstract

Architecture is one of the instruments for peacebuilding, since it is the act of constructing every space of living. However, rather than building it is more important to maintain the sustainability of the peace order in every manner. For this reason, today discourse of 'peace' became an integral part of the concept of ‘sustainability’. The concept of sustainability also plays an important role in the systematic of peace. In this paper, the role of sustainable architecture for the peacebuilding process will be addressed at the city scale (which represents both a settlement and a form of society). The practice of “Famagusta Ecocity Project” will also be introduced within this context.

Günlük yaşamın mekanlarını inşa eden mimarlık, barışın kurulmasında da önemli bir araçtır. Bununla birlikte, barışın her durumda sürdürülebilirliğinin sağlanması yapının kendisinden çok daha önemlidir. Bu nedenle bugün ‘barış’ sürdürülebilirlik kavramının ayrılmaz bir parçasıdır. Ayrıca sürdürülebilirlik kavramı barışı sistematiğinde de vazgeçilmez rol oynar. Bu çalışmada, sürdürülebilir mimarinin barışın kurulmasındaki rolü hem bir yerleşim alan hem de toplumsal yapı anlamında kent ölçeğinde ele alınmış; “Mağusa Ekoşehir Projesi” olumlu bir örnek olarak aktarılmıştır.
