dc.description.abstractThis study was carried out to evaluate the impact of celebrity life style and dressing on social media on undergraduate students in University of Lagos State, Nigeria. Objectives, five research questions, were formulated as well as review of related literatures to the study. The methodology that was employed in this research was Evaluative method, with the utilization of quantitative approach. The study was a survey research design having ten thousand students as the target population, while 405 students served as samples drawn across various departments in the institution. The instrument used for data collection was structured questionnaire. The Data Analysis tool was SPSS file editor, to provide the degree of the impact that was needed in the research. Chii Square calculation was used to get analysis. The findings of the study were: celebrity lifestyle as shown on social media have significant influence on the lives of undergraduate Nigerians; celebrities’ dressing code have significant influence on the dressing style and fashion trend of undergraduate Nigerians; male celebrities wheel significant influence on the lives of undergraduate Nigerians; celebrities’ lifestyle have significant influence on female undergraduate Nigerians; celebrities’ lifestyle are more showcased through Facebook platform to undergraduate Nigerians. It was concluded that undergraduate students of Nigeria tend to live faked lives by focusing on celebrity’ lifestyle and dressing code. The researcher recommended among others that although having someone to look up to as a mentor or model is of great importance to success in life Nigerian undergraduates should rather concentrate more on being who they truly are. dc.description.abstractBu çalışma, Nijerya Lagos State Üniversitesi'ndeki lisans öğrencileri nezdinde ünlülerin yaşam tarzı ve giyiminin sosyal medya üzerinden etkisini değerlendirmek amacıyla yapılmıştır. Amaç, beş araştırma sorusu ve ayrıca çalışmayla ilgili literatür gözden geçirildi. Bu araştırmada kullanılan metodoloji, nicel yaklaşımın kullanıldığı değerlendirme yöntemidir. Çalışma on bin öğrenciyi kapsamakta ve anket çalışması için 405 öğrenci kurumdaki çeşitli bölümlerden seçilen örneklem olarak görev yaptı. Veri toplama aracı olarak yapılandırılmış anket kullanılmıştır. Veri Analizi aracı, araştırmada ihtiyaç duyulan etkinin derecesini sağlamak için SPSS program ve KiKi Kare hesaplaması kullanıldı. Çalışmanın bulguları şunlardı: sosyal medyada görülen ünlülerin yaşam tarzı, Nijeryalı lisans öğrencilerinin yaşamları üzerinde önemli bir etkiye sahiptir; ünlülerin kıyafet tercihlerinin Nijeryalı lisans öğrencilerinin giyinme tarzı ve moda trendi üzerinde önemli bir etkisi vardır; erkek ünlülerin yaşam tarzı,Nijeryalı kadın lisans öğrencileri üzerinde önemli bir etkiye sahiptir; ünlülerin yaşam tarzı, Facebook platformu aracılığıyla Nijeryalı lisans öğrencilerine daha fazla sergileniyor. Nijerya'daki lisans öğrencilerinin ünlülerin yaşam tarzına ve giyim tarzına odaklanarak sahte hayatlar yaşama eğiliminde oldukları sonucuna varılmıştır. Araştırmacı, diğerleri arasında, mentör veya model olarak bakılacak birine sahip olmanın hayatta başarı için büyük önem taşımasına rağmen, Nijeryalı lisans öğrencilerinin gerçekte kim olduklarına daha fazla odaklanmaları gerektiğini tavsiye etti.
