Kuzey Kıbrıs Türk Cumhuriyeti’nde Sağlık Çalışanlarının Sağlık Turizmi Algılarının Değerlendirilmesi: Özel Hastaneler Üzerine Bir Uygulama

Abstract

Health tourism is an important concept that is universal and can contribute to the economy of the country by increasing the flow of tourists, it hosts health services for foreign visitors to countries. In the study, it was tried to determine the health tourism perceptions of healthcare professionals working in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. The main purpose of the study is the perception level of healthcare professionals working in private hospitals for the health tourism potential in TRNC. Other purposes of the study; to determine the effects and problems of health tourism. The sample of the study consists of private hospital employees in Famagusta. As a result of statistical analysis; It has been determined that health tourism has contributed significantly to the economy of the TRNC, brought vitality to the tourism and health sector, and brought the TRNC to the level of competing with other world countries, as it supports the increase of quality standards. As a result of the factor analysis performed on the health tourism potential of the TRNC; Seven factors came to the fore: strategic elements for the destination, destination characteristics, infrastructure, destination advantages, legislation, human resources and logistics. Based on the results obtained in the study, various strategies and suggestions have been presented for the development of health tourism and it’s economic contribution to the country. ÖZ: Sağlık turizmi, ülkeleri ziyaret eden yabancı turistler için sağlanan sağlık hizmetlerini tanımlayan bir kavram olduğu için evrensel bir nitelik taşımaktadır. Bu turizm türünü tercih edenlerin sayısının artmasıyla ülke ekonomisine önemli katkılar sağlanmış olur. Çalışmada, Kuzey Kıbrıs Türk Cumhuriyeti’nde görev yapmakta olan sağlık çalışanlarının sağlık turizmi algıları belirlenmeye çalışılmıştır. Çalışmanın temel amacını, özel hastanelerde görev yapan sağlık çalışanlarının KKTC’deki sağlık turizmi potansiyelini algılama düzeyleri oluşturmaktadır. Çalışmanın diğer amaçları; sağlık turizminin etkilerini ve sorunlarını belirlemektir. Çalışmanın örneklemini Gazimağusa’da yer alan özel hastane çalışanları oluşturmaktadır. Yapılan istatistik analizler sonucunda; sağlık turizminin KKTC’nin ekonomisine önemli katkı sağladığı, turizm ve sağlık sektörüne canlılık getirdiği, kalite standartlarının arttırılmasına destek sağladığı için KKTC’yi diğer dünya ülkeleri ile rekabet edebilme seviyesine taşıdığı bellirlenmiştir. KKTC’nin sağlık turizmi potansiyeliyle ilgili gerçekleştirilen faktör analizi sonucunda; destinasyona yönelik stratejik unsurlar, destinasyon özellikleri, altyapı, destinasyonun avantajları, mevzuat, insan kaynağı ve lojistik olmak üzere yedi faktör öne çıkmıştır. Çalışmada elde edilen sonuçlardan hareketle sağlık turizminin geliştirilmesi ve ekonomik yönden ülkeye katkı oluşturması hususunda çeşitli strateji ve öneriler sunulmuştur.
