In this paper, different derivations for pairwise error probability over fully interleaved Nakagami-m fading channels using coherent BPSK signaling are considered. The derived results are obtained by finding the probability distribution of the sum of squared i.i.d Nakagami-m random variables in the presence of ideal channel state information at the decoder. The exact expressions have also been approximated to provide tight upper bounds which are both efficient and in close approximation to the exact results. Plots for both the pairwise error probability and average union upper bounds on turbo codes having generator polynomials (1,7/5,7/5) and (1,5/7,5/7) are provided to demonstrate the usefulness of the new results. © 2020 TURBO - CODING 2006 - 4th International Symposium on Turbo Codes and Related Topics and 6th International ITG-Conference on Source and Channel Coding.
