Abstract
The East Mediterranean region is a newcomer to hydrocarbons. With less than 9 trillion cubic meters natural gas and not even 1 trillion barrels of oil estimated at present, the region does not now qualify as a major source of hydrocarbons by world standards. © 2020, Springer Nature Switzerland AG.
