| dc.description.abstract | In this article, a family of single-phase buck-boost ac-ac converters based on impedance network cells with reduced active switches is proposed. Unlike the converters presented so far, voltage range and frequency regulation are achieved by only five switches and one switching cell. The inherent commutation is achieved without snubber circuits, a safe commutation method, or splitting the circuit structure into two subcircuits. Hence, have the advantage of simplicity in control and switching strategy. Based on investigating the proposed converter's switching device power index and energy stored in passive elements with different cells and other buck-boost ac-ac converters can be contended that the proposed converter outperforms others regarding power density, weight, and cost. Finally, the operating principles of the proposed converters are expressed in different operational modes. A laboratory prototype verifies the accuracy of the proposed converters at frequencies of 25, 50, and 100 Hz. | |
