Sustainable Constructions and Economic Yield in Northern Cyprus: An Empirical and Qualitative Analysis

Abstract

Sustainable development is a crucial aspect for developing construction economy and not only for specified sectors but it is an ideology for optimum usage for such highly developed infrastructures. This study will explore the potential solutions and challenges that are seen and forecasted in sustainable construction practices. Northern Cyprus is the part of the island that lags behind the infrastructure developments in comparison to other developed countries. In regards of world-wide technological advancements & developments, implication of this future – proof regime is being followed by very slow pace due socio-political and economic barriers which includes political, economic and some other issues. By using proper qualitative research applications, this study will investigate the current conditions for adoption of sustainable practices in construction sector and explain some brief developments regarding to this matter by using some qualitative analysis, tabulated data displays & comparison of various cases. Bu çalışma, sürdürülebilir inşaat uygulamalarında görülen ve öngörülen potansiyel çözümleri ve zorlukları araştıracaktır. Kuzey Kıbrıs, diğer gelişmiş ülkelerle karşılaştırıldığında altyapı geliştirmelerinde geride kalan adanın bir parçasıdır. Dünya çapındaki teknolojik ilerlemeler ve gelişmeler doğrultusunda, bu geleceğe yönelik rejimin uygulanması, siyasi, ekonomik ve döviz kuru gibi sosyo-politik ve ekonomik engeller nedeniyle çok yavaş ilerlemektedir. Bu çalışma, uygun nitel araştırma yöntemlerini kullanarak, inşaat ekonomisinde sürdürülebilir uygulamaların benimsenmesi için mevcut koşulları inceleyecek ve bu konuda grafik analizleri, tablolar halinde veri sunumları ve karşılaştırma analizleri ile bazı kısa açıklamalar sunacaktır.
