Abstract

A general formulation of the probability of co-channel interference (PCI), valid for macro- and micro-cellularradio systems, is presented and related to spectrum efficiency in a correlated log-noma1 shadowing and Ricianmayleigh fading environment. The effects of correlation between the signals and of the Rice factors of the Rician faded desired and interfering signals are investigated. The PCI was observed to be very sensitive to the correlation coefficient between the signals but to be relatively insensitive to whether the interfering signals undergo Rayleigh or Rician fading. © IEEE.
