Abstract
The Smart Experimental Management System (SEMS) is designed to enable students of engineering and polytechnic schools to learn the principles of systems in various scientific areas. SEMS, an Intelligent Experimental Data Management System, equipped with a built in microcomputer-based Data Acquisition and Control System, enables all experimental procedures to be performed in a digital environment. The SEMS Experimental Software guides the student with user defined experimental scenarios and illustrates the important aspects of the experiment with animations. It also incorporates a software Arbitrary Function generator which can produce any user-defined signal appropriate to the experimental procedure. The Data Acquisition Card of the SEMS is designed to receive the analogue measured data from the experimental sets. New software modules are being developed for the SEMS to include popup questions and quizzes to help the student to prepare for the exponential work.
