The European Union accession has been at the core of Turkey's foreign policy dynamics towards the prolonged Cyprus conflict. The EU needs a vision based enlargement policy through offering Turkey a concrete prospect for EU membership that would contribute to internal peace of Turkey as well as bringing her to promote order as a model of conflict resolution within the Eastern Mediterranean region. In the absence of EU anchor which has been at the core of Turkey's internal restoration process through reforms for democratization, the latter cannot maintain its internal peace to solve its internal power struggles in a way what consolidated Western democracies have achieved. © Peter Lang GmbH Internationaler Verlag der Wissenschaften Frankfurt am Main 2015.
