Abstract

This study presents the design and performance evaluation of a microstrip patch antenna for passive RFID tag applications at 2.4 GHz. Simulated using CST Microwave Studio, the proposed antenna achieved a return loss of -49.67 dB. Performance tests conducted with five different dielectric materials, covering relative permittivity values up to 78, confirmed stable impedance matching, gain, and directivity. Simulation results demonstrated the antenna's robustness across various container compositions. These findings highlight its potential for RFID-based sensing in pharmaceutical and chemical applications, enabling reliable wireless identification and material characterization in complex dielectric environments.
