One way wave equation type ABCs for terminating low loss media

Abstract

Absorbing boundary condition (ABC) formulations are derived for low loss media from lossy one way wave equations. The results of a numerical study are presented showing that errors in a low loss computational domain, due to the reflections from the domain boundaries, are significantly lower when the boundaries are terminated by these ABCs instead of those derived for lossless media.
