Abstract

In DS-CDMA systems, fading and impulsive noise lead to increased bit error rates and hence limit performance. Multiple access intereference (MAI) is the other factor which adversely affect performance. Received signal power difference (near-far problem) and asynchronism arise especially when the users are mobile. Flat fading and Gaussian mixture for impulsive noise is used to model the channel. The performance of the single user and the decorrelating detector is shown under various channel conditions.
