Abstract

We consider quantum evolution generated by a hamiltonian -(h) over bar(2)/2 Delta + V, where V is a Coulomb potential. For a certain class of wavefunctions with a Gaussian probability density we construct an approximate semiclassical time evolution. We show that the modified wave operators can be approximated in the leading order in (h) over bar using the corresponding classical Moller transformations. (C) Elsevier, Paris.
