Abstract
Deniz turizmi olarak adlandırabileceğimiz kurvaziyer gemilerle yolcu taşımacılığı ilk defa Albert Blain tarafından 1890da başlatılmıştır. Almanya'nın 1930yılında kurvaziyer gemilere devlet desteği sağlamasıyla kurvaziyer turizm dünyada büyük bir gelişme göstermiştir. Türkiye'de ilk kurvaziyer gemi işletmeciliği II. Dünya Savaşı'ndan sonraki yıllarda "Ege" adlı liner yolcu gemisiyle başlamıştır. Ancak günümüzde dahi Türk gemilerinin dizayn standartları düşük olduğu için gerçek anlamda kurvaziyer gemi işletmeciliğinden söz edilemez. Türkiye'nin kurvaziyer yolcu taşımacılığı yaptığı Îstanbul-Barcelona, İstanbul-Mısır; İstanbul-Hayfa hatlarında zaman zaman talep azlığından seferler iptal edilmektedir.
The passengers transportation on cruise lines, which is considered a form of marine tourism, was first started by Albert Blair in 1890. With the German governments supportfor cruise vessels in 1930, cruise lines flourished dramatically ali över the world. Cruise line business in Turkey started with a vessel named "EgeAegean" in the yearsfollomng the second world war. However, it is stili hard to say that thereis a mature cruise line business due to the inferior design standards öfTurkish vessels. It is not uncommon that journeys are canceled on Istanbul-Barcelona, Istanbul-Egypt and Istanbul-Haifa lines due to low demand. Because of the unsuitability of the infrastructure of the ports for cruise vessels, Turkey can not fully take advantage of Us natural beauties.
