Initial Public Offerings (IPOs) in Pakistan Stock Exchange: The Underpricing and the Long-Term Underperformance Anomalies

Abstract

This study uses the event study approach to analyze the short- and long-term performance of the IPOs of Octopus Digital and Airlink Communication on the Pakistan Stock Exchange from 2021 to 2024. The study examines the impact of the initial public offering announcement on the stock prices of these two companies over a short-term event window of 20 days as well as a long-term event window of 2.5 years.
