Hemşirelerin Toplumsal Cinsiyet Rollerine İlişkin Tutumlarının Belirlenmesi

Abstract

ÖZ: Bu araştırma hemşirelerin toplumsal cinsiyet rollerine ilişkin tutumlarını belirlemek amacıyla tanımlayıcı olarak yapılmıştır. Araştırmanın örneklemini Mersin Üniversitesi’nde çalışan 294 hemşire oluşturmuştur. Araştırmanın verileri sosyodemografik bilgileri içeren ‘Kişisel Bilgi Formu’ ve ‘Toplumsal Cinsiyet Rolleri Ölçeği’ aracılığıyla toplanmıştır. Araştırmanın analizinde SPSS 23.0 istatistik programı kullanılmıştır. Araştırmada kullanılan Toplumsal Cinsiyet Rolleri Tutum Ölçeğine ait ifadelerin ortalama ve standart sapmaları değerlendirilmiştir. Verilerin değerlendirilmesinde normal dağılıma uyan verilerin analizinde ikili karşılaştırmalarda Bağımsız Örneklem t testi, ikiden daha fazla değişkenin karşılaştırılmasında ise ANOVA kullanılmıştır. Anlamlı sonuçlarda Tukey post hoc analizi, Levene testi sonuçlarına göre Horchberg’s GT2 post hoc analizi ile gruplar arası karşılaştırmalar yapılmıştır. Araştırmaya katılan hemşirelerin kadın erkek sayısı eşitlenerek veriler değerlendirilmiştir. Bireylerin %62.9’unun evli, %67.3’ünün lisans mezunu, %37.8’inin 6-10 yıl deneyimi olduğu, toplumsal cinsiyet rolleri ölçeğinden ise ortalama 149±17,58 puan aldıkları belirlenmiştir. Toplumsal Cinsiyet Rolleri Tutum ölçeği cinsiyet değişkenine göre değerlendirildiğinde; kadınların eşitlikçi cinsiyet rolü, evlilikte cinsiyet rolü,erkek cinsiyet rolü ve TCRTÖ genel puan ortalamaları erkeklere göre anlamlı derecede daha yüksektir. Ayrıca 39-55 yaşları arasındaki bireylerin eşitlikçi cinsiyet rolleri, 23-27 yaş arasındaki bireylere göre anlamlı olarak daha yüksektir. Katılımcıların mesleki deneyimine göre aldıkları puanlar karşılaştırıldığında 16-20 yıl deneyimi olan bireylerin eşitlikçi cinsiyet rollerinin 0-5 yıl deneyimi olan bireylere göre anlamlı olarak daha yüksek olduğu bulunmuştur. Sonuç olarak hemşirelerin toplumsal cinsiyet rollerine ilişkin tutumlarının çeşitli değişkenlerden etkilendiği ve toplumsal cinsiyet eşitliği ile ilgili farklı örneklem grupları ile çalışmalar yapılmasının alana katkı sağlayacağı düşünülmektedir.

The aim of this research was to determine the attitudes of nurses towards gender roles, as a descriptive study. The sample of the study consisted of 294 nurses working at Mersin University. The data of the study were collected through the 'personal information form' containing sociodemographic information and the 'gender roles scale'. SPSS 23.0 statistical program was used in the analysis of the research. The mean and standard deviations of the expressions of the gender role attitude scale used in the research were evaluated. In the evaluation of the data, the independent sample t-test was used in paired comparisons in the analysis of data with normal distribution, and anova was used in the comparison of more than two variables. For significant results, comparisons between groups were made with tukey post hoc analysis. The relationship between the scale and its sub-dimensions was evaluated with the pearson correlation test. The data were evaluated by equalizing the number of female and male nurses participating in the research. It was determined that 62.9% of the individuals were married, 67.3% had a bachelor's degree, 37.8% had 6-10 years of experience, and they scored an average of 149±17.58 from the gender role scale.Gender roles when the attitude measure is evaluated according to the gender variable; women's egalitarian gender role, sex cell in marriage, male gender role and TCRTÖ overall score averages are higher than men.In addition, egalitarian gender roles of individuals aged 39-55 are higher than individuals aged 23-27 was determined statitically significant (p<0,05). When the scores of the participants according to their professional experience were compared, it was found that the egalitarian gender roles of individuals with 16-20 years of experience were higher than those with 0-5 years of experience was determined statitically significant(p<0,05). As a result, it is thought that nurses' attitudes towards gender roles are affected by various variables and it is thought that conducting studies with different sample groups on gender equality will contribute to this field.
