Chabot Duygusal Ayrımlaşma Ölçeği’nin Türkçeye Uyarlanması ve Evli Bireylerin Duygusal Ayrımlaşma Düzeylerinin İncelenmesi

Abstract

ÖZ: Bu araştırmanın ilk amacı, bireylerin duygusal ayrımlaşma düzeylerini ölçmeye yönelik olarak David Chabot (1993) tarafından geliştirilmiş olan ―Chabot Emotional Differentiation‖ (Chabot Duygusal Ayrımlaşma Ölçeği) ölçeğini Türkçeye uyarlayıp KKTC‘deki evli bireyler üzerindeki güvenirliğini ve geçerliğini test etmektir. İkinci amacı, duygusal ayrımlaşma düzeyleri ile sürekli kaygı ve evlilik yaşam doyumu düzeyleri arasındaki ilişkinin incelenmesidir. Üçüncü amacı ise, evli bireylerin bazı sosyo-demografik değişkenlerine göre duygusal ayrımlaşma düzeylerinin incelenmesidir. Araştırmanın çalışma grubu, Gazimağusa‘da yaşayan 265‘i kadın ve 168‘i erkek olan 433 evli bireyden oluşmaktadır. Chabot Duygusal Ayrımlaşma Ölçeği (CDAÖ) kaynak dil olan İngilizceden Türkçeye, Rehberlik ve Psikolojik Danışmanlık Ana Bilim Dalı ve Yabancı Diller Bölümünden her iki dile hakim olan üç uzman tarafından ayrı ayrı çevrilmiş, yapılan çeviriler değerlendirilmiş ve ölçek, yapılan ön deneme uygulamasının ardından Türkçeye uyarlanmıştır. Geçerlik çalışmasında, 14 maddelik ölçeğin yapı geçerliğini test etmek amacıyla yapılan açımlayıcı faktör analizi sonucunda iki faktörlü bir yapı elde edilmiştir. Birinci faktör, Ben Pozisyonu Alma ve ikinci faktör ise, Duygusal Tepkisellik olarak adlandırılmıştır. Bu iki faktör, yapılan doğrulayıcı faktör analizi ile de desteklenmiştir. Ölçeğin güvenirliğini test etmek amacıyla Cronbach Alfa iç tutarlılık katsayıları hesaplanmış ve güvenirlik katsayıları ölçeğin toplamı için 0.693, Ben Pozisyonu Alma alt boyutu için 0.734 ve Duygusal Tepkisellik alt boyutu için ise 0.628 olarak saptanarak ölçeğin kullanılabilir olduğu ortaya konmuştur. Yapılan analiz sonucunda, evli bireylerin CDAÖ puanları ile Sürekli Kaygı Envanteri (SKE) puanları ve Evlilik Yaşam Doyumu Ölçeği (EYDÖ) puanları arasındaki ilişki değerleri, ölçeğin ölçüt bağıntılı geçerliğini desteklemiştir. Evli bireylerin CDAÖ puanları arasında sosyo-demografik özelliklerine göre anlamlı bir fark olup olmadığının incelendiği analizler sonucunda da, CDAÖ toplam ve alt boyutlarına ait puanlarda yaş, cinsiyet, evlenme biçimi, evlilik sayısı, evlenme yaşı, evlilik süresi ve mesleğe göre anlamlı bir fark tespit edilmezken CDAÖ toplam puanları arasında eğitim durumlarına göre anlamlı bir fark tespit edilmiştir.

The first aim of this study is to adapt Chabot Emotional Differentiation Scale which was developed by David Chabot (1993), to Turkish and test the reliability and validity of this scale for married individuals in TRNC. The second objective is to examine the relationship between emotional differentiation levels and trait anxiety and marriage life satisfaction levels. The third aim of this study is to examine the level of emotional differentiation of married individuals according to some of their sociodemographic variables of this Turkish adapted scale. The study group consisted of 433 married individuals, of whom 265 were women and 168 were men, living in Famagusta. The Chabot Emotional Differentiation Scale was translated from English to Turkish, Guidance and Psychological Counseling and Foreign Languages Department by the three experts who were fluent in both languages. The translations were evaluated and the scale was adapted to Turkish after the preliminary practice. In the validity study, a two-factor structure was obtained as a result of the exploratory factor analysis to test the construct validity of the 14-item scale. The first factor was named I-Position and the second factor was called Emotional Reactivity. These two factors were supported by confirmatory factor analysis. In order to test the reliability of the scale, Cronbach's alpha internal consistency coefficients were calculated and the reliability coefficients were found to be 0.693 for the sum of the scale, 0.734 for the I-Position and 0.628 for the Emotional Reactivity sub-dimension. As a result of the analysis, the correlation between CED scores of the married individuals and the Trait Anxiety Inventory scores and the Marriage Life Satisfaction Scale scores supported the criterion-related validity of the scale. As a result of vi analyzes showing whether there is a significant difference between the CED scores of the married individuals according to their socio-demographic characteristics, no significant difference was found in the scores of total and sub-dimensions of CED in terms of age, gender, type of marriage, number of marriages, age of marriage, duration of marriage and occupation. There was a significant difference between the scores of the educational status.
