Toplumsal Cinsiyet Bağlamında Feminist Sanatta Beden, Cinsiyet, Kimlik Kurguları

Abstract

Batının şekillendirdiği eril tarih anlayışının kadınları yok sayması, sanat tarihinde de kadınlara ait değerleri ve kadın varlığını görünmez kılmıştır. Sanat tarihinin eril bakışın cinsiyetçi tutumu altında gelişmiş olması kadınların sanattan dışlanmasını doğurmuştur. Kadının kimlik arayışı feminizm hareketiyle şekillenirken, toplumsal kırılmalarla değişen dünya düzeni içinde beden, cinsiyet ve kimliğe ait felsefik sorgulamalar feminist teoriyi şekillendirmiştir. Bu ilişkisellikle feminist aktivizmin etkisinde gelişen feminist sanat hareketi içinde kadın sanatçılar, sanat tarihinde ve tarih sahnesinde kendi ‘özne’liklerini ortaya koymak için sanatı bir özgürlük alanı olarak kullanmışlardır. Feminist sanat tarihçiler, sanatta kadının eril bakışın arzu nesnesi olarak temsil edilmesinin ve sanatta kadın varlığının görünmez kılınmış olmasının nedenlerini deşifre etmişlerdir. Feminist sanatçıların çalışmalarının temel çıkış noktasını oluşturan bu farkındalık, kadın sanatçıları kendi değerleri, bedenleri, kimlikleri ve cinselliklerini kullanarak üretim yapmaya yönlendirmiştir. Yapılan çalışmada elde edilen veriler göstermiştir ki; feminist sanatçılar, sanat ve hayatın her alanında eril bakışla kuşatılmış kadının özgürleşmesi adına kendi benliğini ortaya koyarak ‘özne’ olma yolunda çok büyük bir mücadele vermiştir. Çalışmalarını feminist bakış açısı ile toplumsal cinsiyet eşitsizliği bağlamında beden, cinsiyet ve kimlik sorunsalları ile ortaya koyan feminist sanatçılar, sanatta ve hayatta var olan eşitsizliği, eril tarih anlayışının oluşturduğu her türlü dil, söylem, estetik değer ve araçsal sembolleri yapı sökümüne uğratarak bir karşı duruş sergilemişlerdir. The ignorance of women by the masculine understanding of history shaped by the West has rendered the values and existence of women invisible in the history of art. The fact that the history of art has developed under the sexist attitude of the masculine view has led to the exclusion of women from art. While women's search for identity is shaped by the feminism movement, philosophical inquiries into body, gender, and identity have shaped feminist theory that changing world order with social ruptures. Within the feminist art movement, which developed under the influence of feminist activism with this relationality, women artists used art as an area of freedom in order to reveal their 'subjectivity' in art history and on the stage of history. Feminist art historians have deciphered the reasons why women are represented in art as the object of desire of the masculine gaze and the woman's presence in art has been rendered invisible. This awareness, which constitutes the basic starting point of the works of feminist artists, has led women artists to produce by using their own values, bodies, identities and sexuality. The data obtained in the study showed that; Feminist artists have put up a great struggle to become a 'subject' by revealing their own self for the liberation of women, who are surrounded by a masculine view in all areas of art and life. Feminist artists, who reveal their works with a feminist perspective and with the problematics of body, gender and identity in the context of gender inequality, have taken a stand by deconstructing the inequality existing in art and life, all kinds of language, discourse, aesthetic values and instrumental symbols created by the masculine understanding of history.
